Since 2006, American Century Investments has committed nearly $9 million to help the LIVESTRONG Foundation fulfill its mission to improve the lives of people affected by cancer today. Each year, more than 40% of company profits are directed to the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, established and endowed by American Century Investments founder Jim Stowers and his wife Virginia, both cancer survivors. The LIVESTRONG Foundation began partnering with international carshare program car2go in 2010 around the launch of their service in North America. Today, in addition to playing a sponsorship role in Foundation events, car2go has teamed up with the LIVESTRONG Cancer Navigation Center and Faith in Action Caregivers to launch the LIVESTRONG Transportation Program, providing survivors with rides to and from cancer related appointments in the Austin area.
