Advocate for better
2 out of 5 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. Advocating for improved quality of life, treatment, and research is imperative because we will all be touched by this disease. Raise your voice and make the need for better care a top priority at the state and federal levels. Because you deserve better.
When you speak, decision makers listen.
Your story and wealth of experience are powerful tools for helping others. Together, we can make impactful change for those living with cancer now, and for those who will be diagnosed in the future.
Our Current Priorities
We look for ways to make systemic change at the highest levels. Here are some of our areas of focus:
- Fertility preservation
- Cancer survivorship
- Equitable access to cancer care
- Adolescents and young adults affected by cancer
Being a patient for all these years made me want to give back to the medical community and be sure cancer is getting its due funding. I’ve lost far too many friends from this disease, and I want to be a voice for the ones that are missing.

By advocating together we helped push through Texas House Bill 1649, The Medically Necessary Fertility Preservation Act. This Bill requires any state-regulated health benefit plans to cover fertility preservation services for patients receiving medically necessary treatment that may impair fertility in adolescents and young adults.
We have also signed on in support of the Clinical Trial Modernization Act (H.R. 8412), which aims to expand access to clinical trials.
