Serving our country comes with great sacrifice, but if you or your loved one has been diagnosed with cancer we don’t believe you need to sacrifice your quality of life.

Livestrong.org has information about how to navigate this difficult time, whether you are newly diagnosed or your loved one is out of treatment.  We’ve put together some trusted resources with you in mind to help you Livestrong.

Caring for a veteran with cancer?  Here are some things to keep in mind.

-The armed forces places value on strength and it may be difficult for for a veteran to express themselves

-A diagnosis can further aggravate existing anxiety or depression caused by wartime trauma

-Make time to listen and avoid questioning how they feel

-Encourage them to find outside support
