First Descents provides week-long outdoor adventure camps for young adults with cancer (18-39). Programs are all about having fun, getting outside and pushing your limits through kayaking, rock climbing and other outdoor activities. To use the program finder tool- click on the type of excursion you’re interested in [Week-long, local tributaries, international retreats] and enter in your location to find a program near you. In order to register- click on the “Join Us” tab and fill out the listed information to start your application. The only eligibility requirements are age and a cancer or MS diagnoses.

Faces of Courage provides different programs for teens and adults diagnosed with cancer. The different programs include day-long adventures and overnight camps. There are specific camps for women of color and teenagers. Each camp has different eligibility requirements that may be viewed in the respective camp description.

Insure Kids Now offers information on how children and teens qualify for low-cost health and dental coverage through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

The International Council on Infertility Information offers information on fertility preservation as well as a scholarship opportunity for In Vitro Fertilization coverage. The organization also helps locate local fertility services. To be eligible one applicant must have an infertility diagnosis, express financial need and be a US citizen.

Meals on Wheels America provides free meals and other services (dog walking, safety checks, etc.) to elderly and disabled persons around the country. To be eligible for services you must be: Primarily homebound, Unable to easily prepare nutritious meals, Without consistent daytime assistance from another person, Able to accept meals during the delivery time frame. To find your local meals on wheels program click on the “Find Meals” tab and follow the application steps for the most accessible program near you. Local programs may vary in the services they provide. Some offer care calls, transportation to medical appointments or grocery shopping services.
