South Wood County YMCA Hosts Community 5K
This month we are thrilled to feature The South Wood County YMCA in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. They invited their Livestrong at the YMCA participants to sign up for Cancer to Crushing It, Livestrong’s 6-week 5K training program. They not only encouraged people to join in this shared opportunity, they envisioned a thriving, supportive finish line experience.
For six weeks, the group of survivors trained together, building strength and encouraging each other to keep pushing. When training wrapped up, the South Wood County YMCA hosted a community 5K and rallied neighbors, friends, and families to join the run, line the course, and cheer on every Cancer to Crushing It participant as they crossed the finish line.
It’s the kind of moment that captures community at its best and how important it is to show up for each other. Congratulations, South Wood County Team! We hope many follow in your footsteps.
