Brain Cancer
May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Find support for brain tumor survivors.

Brain cancer, or brain tumors, occur when cells develop abnormally in the brain. There are over 150 different types of brain tumors, some of the most common being meningiomas and glioblastomas. Brain tumors can be either benign or malignant—though both can be serious due to pressure on the brain. While relatively rare, brain cancer affects both children and adults and is most commonly seen in older individuals. Risk factors include genetic mutations, radiation exposure, and a family history of brain tumors. Recurrence is common, especially with aggressive types like glioblastoma, making ongoing monitoring essential for survivors.
